I need help with these guitar chords?

So my teacher now to teach me power chords, shes teaching me "mad at you" of heart, I'm really good to read tabs, but this new stuff is kinda weird. is there any chart or anytihng to teach me? now we just do power chords at A and E string to 12 bands from nut, and in the form of forgot what it all means, as I understand that the jump between frets and where all the letters are, but when it says C im confused weather to go on the E or A string. How can I learn it?
