Been learning guitar around 9 months, songs to learn?

i been getting free lessons at school, however these have been learning things like chord changes and notes on each string, ive also learnt in my spare time various song intro’s and some basic solo’s. as I am unlikely to continue lessons next year (a Friend has offered to give me some training) i am really keen to start learning full songs. are there any decent and easy to play songs that I can get started with and build my ability up? thanks

Poison- “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” This song is centered around G, C, and D chords and you can easily practice chord changes and strumming patterns. The solos in the song are also fairly simple and shouldn’t be too difficult with the exception of the ending run of the main solo for someone that has been playing as long as you.
Rolling Stones- “Start me up” Really easy song and is almost instantly recognizable. Whenever I have played this for people, it has been a huge hit.
Basically, take any song that you would like to learn (even if its “Black Star” by Yngwie which I do not recommend for a beginner) and slow it down piece by piece. I use a metronome and analyze the song itself. Doing so has advanced my playing greatly as well as serving as ear training. Learn the song structure and even the most advanced solos can be learned with practice and committment.

The first step in learning the guitar is to determine your skill level. Beginners and intermediates should find a resource designed for them, and leave advanced guitar lessons for later as they become more proficient. It is wise to start with something designed for your skill level, which makes guitar instruction more fun. Click Here For A Learn To Play Guitar Product Review
