guitar amplifier head
Take a listen to this guitar amp and give me some of your thoughts.?

There is an amp head that I thought it is all tube and it has sound clips on website. It looks like it has both a great clean and distortion, please take a listen and give me some feedback about the tone: http://rocksolidamps.com/index.php?contain=description&ii=42&mid=2 I'm not actually trying to get a metal amp. I'm more of a blues / Hard Rock / Classic Rock / progressive rock / alt-rock kind of player.

That sounds pretty good, but it does not quite have the advantage that I would prefer in the form of aggressive rock / metal. Def seems like an amplifier more on classic rock … I bet a hot enough signal, you can run it a little harder, but it does not seem to be "metal" out of the box. This last sound clip was pretty cool, but if you look at the signal rich guy, it would be difficult for most amplifiers to sound bad with the kind of tools and attention to detail! Speakers have a huge impact on tone, and a delightful cabin will help even a relatively cheap crappy amp sound much more snarling and chunky. For the guy who thought that a 50 watt amplifier was a rip-off … he obviously does not understand that with more wattage is not always better! More watts means you'll have to turn up higher (and higher) to get to the point where the tubes start saturating and amp starts to sound really nice – when it gets that tube mojo singing crisp sound. 50 watts, and is where you want to be .. They will not have as much ground clearance (you will not be able to get clean tones so loud vs. a 100W amplifier), but conversely, you sound much better in smaller quantities. Which is exactly what you want because you can not crank the volume up most of the time, at least if you have neighbors or are on a small stage and you really need to hear drummer! Saul
