Some tips to cool sounds on the Boss GT-6 guitar effects processor?

Virtually looking cool presets or something cold to make up that sounds good at genre.

I have a GT-3, and I love it. For me it's all about learning to use the expression pedal and have it interact with the settings. For example, the expression pedal all the way, you can have it in a normal tone … let us say a little overdrive tone. As you roll the pedal back, you can have it add a little echo, since the towels farther back, add some phasing and deepen echo with a bit of 'verb, and all the way back to completely kill the echo, keep the verb, and do a solo boost. The idea is that you can get lots of texture in a dynamic way. I also like that you can put eg in any order you wish … so you can put an echo before a stompbox, reduce it down to feed in a preamp, as a way to create sustained notes in an unconventional way, for example. The expression pedal can be used in all possible ways – as a way to change the limit threshold, gain, depth / number of delays … and it's not even get into the other types of variables, the internal ones that I still do not know much about. Much of what for me has come down to just screw around with it for a couple hours of trying to find out how different example of interacting with each other. GT-6 has a shuttle simulator in it, right? Well, you can put that after the amp model, for example. I love the pure effects of GT-3 is, but I'm not really crazy about his "high-gain settings. I prefer to use a separate pedal for my distorted sounds, either a Boss Metal Zone or Metalcore, depending the type of sound I prefer. I use the GT-3 at this point as a subtle EQ … I use one of the low-gain amplifier gain settings at the middle setting, basically to add a little sparkle and dynamism in tone. Between it and some EQ to help balance out the tone … that's about it. I can add pure effects if and when I want (although admittedly I have not really done much of that lately I've been going almost straight clean and dirty). Yahoo and Google groups are other resources for you, I am also know that I belong to a group at one of them … Yahoo? Have not checked it out for a while. Saul
