How PS2 Online?

I have a PS2 for bout 2 or 3 years now, and ever since the PS3 is hard to enjoy or get new games for PS2 … I wish to make online games but I have no idea how. I have a disk or something for loading it, but I dont know wat to do. Btw it costs a lot, and there is a lot ppl online most of the time. Just another question to put out there …. What games would u recommend getting near Christmas (besides guitar hero)
