Why is my guitar hero 5 guitar is pressing the buttons themselves?

I got Guitar Hero 5 last Friday for the PS3 from the game. initially it started randomly pressing the Start button, which was really annoying during a game. but now it does random things. I left the guitar on its own because it kept un-sync itself, and when it restored it began to press the Home button and navigate the XMB without reason. I have tried re-syncing, and their is no other connected controllers. Does anyone know what happens?

Your controller is probably messed up. Return whole kit and ask for a new one. Have your receipt.
