Will Rock Band 1 instruments work with Guitar Hero 5?

I have the rock band 1 instruments for PS3 and was planning on getting Guitar Hero 5, the instruments work with the game? I know that Rock Band 1 instruments will not work with Guitar Hero: Smash Hits for any reason.
