guitar lessons garageband

So I've just started guitar lessons, but dont know what to do when im home with a guitar …?

I just automatically play like random things get kind of boring after a while. I like to learn different guitar tabs, but it does not look like my guitar is really good enough to play real songs. Does anyone know anything about GarageBand 06, which could make it sound cooler when I plug in my guitar.?

you need to get the basic chords …. free styling will not help too much, but still makes it fun! when you have the chords, you should practice scales
