What Xbox 360 guitar is universal for Rock band 1 and 2 plus Guitar Hero games?

Already have a rock band 1 guitar. I want Guitar hero 3, should I just buy the Guitar hero 3 with the guitar and will it work with rock band 2?

the guitar hero guitars work well. the world tour drums work for rock band 1 and 2 as also.
