Will / Will Metallica ever go back to its old glory?

Up to about 1991, Metallica was the greatest, most glorious thrash metal / heavy Metal Band in the industry. Best Percussion, Best Guitar, no doubt 'bout it. So after '91 went sour and they went downhill. They began to write shitty emo music, and they did what every other rock band at the time did. So in 2003 they really put nails in the coffin and went overboard with horrible drums and no guitar solos. So, what they are history. Can and will they ever go back to the music that made them popular? Or are they going to follow the flock (Korn, Strapping Young Lad, etc. ..) And make music that nobody really likes?

Metallica has been through a time when they are on top of metal music. They are so famous, everyone is talking about themselves and all bands will respect them as God. But as you said today, they are not in a good condition, their music is so different from their roots, changing bass and like to die. I think it's so hard for them to go back to its old glory. If they want to do it so they should return to their roots of metal music they ever put all of us, choose the second bassist like Jason minimum, better if they think like the mighty Cliff Burton (best bassist in metal history). They must be like Judas Priest, they make it reunited, and they are still a killer band again right now.
