Using a ps2 controller adaptor to make GH guitar work for Rock Band ps3?

If i was to use a ps2 controller adapter for ps3, and connect the guitar hero controller to it,would the Guitar controller work for Rock Band????
I don’t know if that’ll work, but you’ll be able to buy a second Rock Band guitar for PS3 in April. That’s when they will start to sell them separately.
