Does a guitar from Guitar Hero work with Rock Band on PS3?

I’ve got Guitar Hero 3 with guitar on PS3. Looking forward to the release of Rock Band: Beatles edition which comes with a set of drums and one guitar. Was wondering if the guitar I’ve already got could be used as an extra guitar?
