solo guitar playing noad
Am I on track with my guitar practice?
I started practicing about a month ago, and normally uses between 1-2 hours practicing. I use Frederick Noad's "Solo Guitar player, Vol.1" and on page 57 (become ready to start "Malaguena"). I've basically been practicing each exercise until I have notes and timing right. I try to focus on tone, but some of the buzz I blame my cheap guitar which I hope to replace a pair months. There's just some notes that I just can not get to call without excruciating pain, although my fingers are hard, hard nubs. Some of my musician friends have told me to just get the best sound I can and move on. Yesterday I bought a footrest for better shape and posture. I have also used finger picks to help with the tone. Am I on track?
Hey Dino, you should put light gauge of your guitar, which would more than facilitating your game. The buzzing oyu hear may be due to a bad string. After playing 1 to 2 hours daily, strings will wear down quickly and lose their tone so well. Now would be a good time to switch to Light meter with 010 as the smallest.
