An Easy Guitar lesson for beginners
The main guitar for most beginners is to be able to play a song. And it has been my experience the sooner they see they are actually able to make music better their chances of continuing to play guitar.
With that in mind I have put together this easy guitar lesson "How to Play" Free Fallin''By Tom Petty the Heartbreakers ans. "You must play the song using only three chords, a D, a D sus 4 and an A chord. Here are pictures of chord formations you will need:
|———-|—- 2 —–|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|—- 3 —–|———-|
|———-|—- 1 —–|———-|———-| D chord
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|—- 2 —-|—- 4 —–|———-|
|———-|———-|—- 3 —–|———-|
|———-|—- 1 —–|———-|———-| D sus 4
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|—- 3 —–|———-|———-|
|———-|—- 3 —–|———-|———-| A chord
|———-|—- 3 —–|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
|———-|———-|———-|———-|
The fingerings I have mentioned may not be the way you play the chord, especially A. If you no player A with a finger, you begin to learn to do it now if you want to play Barre chords in the future. As for the D sus 4, you simply add the G note to the D-chord with your pinky. Here's what it looks on paper:
Intro: D / Dsus Dsus / D / Asus (x2)
Dsus D Dsus DA
She a good girl, loves her mama
Dsus D Dsus DA
Loves Jesus and America for
Dsus D Dsus DA
She is a good girl, crazy 'bout Elvis
Dsus D Dsus DA
Love hors-es and her boy – friend too
(intro again 1x)
Dsus D Dsus DA
It's a long day Livin 'in Reseda
Dsus D Dsus DA
There is a free-way run through the yard
Dsus D Dsus DA
And I'm a bad boy, not because I did not even miss her
Dsus D Dsus DA

CHORUS
D-Dsus Dsus-EN
Now I am free
D-Dsus Dsus-EN
Free drop-in '
D-Dsus Dsus-EN
Yeah I'm Free
D-Dsus Dsus-EN
Free drop-in '
all vampires Walkin 'through the valley
move west down Ventura Boulevard
all the bad guys are in the shade
and the good girls are home with broken hearts
now I'm free
free drop-in '
ya I'm Free
free drop-in '
intro again, with light solo / riff
(Free Fallin, I am now, Free Fallin)
I want to glide down over Mulholland
I want to write his name in the sky
